Day after day they pour forth speech;
Night after night they display knowledge.”
Psalm 19:1-2
Yesterday, the heavens were screaming out the praises of God and we got to share in it!
Blue skies, 28 degrees, a cool breeze and a walk along the coast. We dangled our feel in a freezing stream, listened to the waterfall.
We saw cliffs towering out of the sea and the Pacific ocean stretched as far as we could see.
Flowers, birds, frogs, and bush cockroaches (which by the way are much cooler than your household variety – I even touched one!).
I have never experienced so much pleasure soaking in God’s amazing creation I was drawn deeply into worshiping our maker.
Who would have thought of making rocks such cool patterns and bright red colours?
All morning the verse went through my head: “For by him (Jesus) all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible…all things were created by him and for him” (Colossians 1:16).
Jesus was the cause of all this – he was part of the creating process and he is the reference point of creation – if something doesn’t fit his purpose, it isn’t made. And what ever is made, we know was made "for him" or as another translation goes, "with him in view".
Jesus is creation’s goal – “All creatures, without exception whatever, must contribute glory to him and serve his purpose.” (William Hendriksen)
Yesterday, my heart caught a glimpse of Jesus in his creation. He didn’t have to create colours and flowers and oceans and sunshine…but he did so we would see how great he truly is!
I forget that he wants us to enjoy these things and with Spring upon us, I hope I don’t forget this lesson again for a long time. There is nothing better than spending a few hours in awe and wonder – noticing all the little and big things which exist for our Saviour’s glory!
P.S. Sorry, I can't take credit for the photos - my husband is the budding photographer!

I don't think I've ever really thought about that it was through Jesus that things were created. And as you talked about shows how glorious our Savior truly is, which in turn shows even more deeply how precious His gift was on the cross.
What a great way to start my morning, in awe and thankfulness to our Savior.
ps: great photos simon!
